Dr. Jeff Shell - Lead Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Jeff Shell received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from the University of Georgia and has been practicing in the Atlanta area ever since.

Thankfully, Dr. Shell came to work as an Associate Veterinarian at Butler Creek Animal Hospital in September 2006. He has said that he really appreciates the close, family-like work environment of Butler Creek Animal Hospital and that "the management and owners are supportive of our mission to treat pets to the best of our ability and serve clients with compassion and professionalism."

Dr. Shell's professional interests are internal medicine, especially endocrinology, and senior-related conditions such as arthritis, pain management, and cognitive disorders. "One of the things I love the most is being able to give a senior pet the best quality of life possible." He also likes soft-tissue surgeries, specifically the treatment of cancers. He currently is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association (GVMA).

Outside of work, Dr. Shell loves to go hiking and photograph the animals and landscapes he finds along the way! He has recently taken up handgun shooting and participates in IDPA and USPSA competitions. He currently shares his home with two felines: his infamous roommate, Kevin, the 3-year-old black cat, and the newest addition, a female orange and white tabby named Green Bean Casserole (or GBC as she is regularly referred to).
